Linnea {le-NAY-uh} is a small pink mountain flower named after the famous Swedish naturalist, Carl von Linné, who invented the classification of plants, animals and all living things. Linnea is a popular girls name in Sweden and is also the national flower of Sweden. Linnea is a name that is deeply rooted in our founders’ family heritage. We chose our name not only as a tribute to our ancestors and the strong women who came before us but also to pay homage to the beauty that exists in our natural surroundings.

There are many wax mediums available to create candles for enjoyment. At LINNEA, we choose to handcraft candles using natural soy wax grown in the Midwest. Soy wax is 100% natural and biodegradable, making it safe and clean for the environment, has a lower melting point which allows it to burn slower and cooler, and is a sustainable American resource.

LINNEA natural soy candles are a combination of essential oils and cosmetic grade fine fragrances. All our fragrances oils are cruelty-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and Prop 65 compliant. Our blends comply with the International Fragrance Association’s safety and purity standards and all applicable international, federal, state and local regulations.

Each LINNEA soy candle is handcrafted in small batches to produce a highly fragrant, superior product. By creating our candles in this artisanal way, we can maximize our fragrance to wax concentration to ensure the ultimate in cold and hot scent throw without the scent flashing off the wax. Every step of creating a LINNEA candle is touched by the human hand. From blending, pouring, and packaging, LINNEA candles are designed with passion and an unwavering commitment to quality and beauty.

Since our humble beginnings in 2009, LINNEA has utilized a double wick system in our candles. The signature, double wick candle provides a pleasing scent throw and a clean, clear burn utilizing all the wax without tunneling. To ensure the beauty and integrity of our line and of the environment, we only use lead-free cotton wicks. In addition, our signature double-wick ties back to the two L’s of our brand. When you see a double-wicked soy candle with a LINNEA logo, you know you have an elegant, handcrafted candle that is sure to please and inspire.

We use recycled paper, soy and water-based inks in our packaging. While our vessel is not made from recycled glass, we strongly recommend recycling it after the candle has been enjoyed. Since soy wax is all natural, just wash out the vessel with dish soap & warm water. Our vessels make exceptional barware, flower vases, and lovely storage jars for cotton balls, cotton swabs, pens, pencils and more!

Simply put, we believe in enhancing one’s surroundings through elegant fragrance, not decorating it with colored candles. We use a soft LINNEA grey glass vessels to show the beauty and simplicity of our candles.

We make our products daily and utilize a lean manufacturing method, so they are as fresh as possible. Since LINNEA candles are made with all-natural soy wax, we recommend using the candle within one year of opening it from the original packaging.

When using a match to illuminate your candles, you should follow these steps for the safest and best results.

1. Hold the match in your dominant hand.

2. Hold the matchbox in your non-dominant hand, ensuring the striking strip faces outward.

3. Gently strike the match away from your body. This prevents debris from flying towards you and reduces the risk of the matchstick breaking.

4. Hold the match with the flame facing upwards.

5. Keep your hand below the flame to prevent burns.

6. Light the candle by tilting the match towards the wick

To safely put out a lit match blow it out gently, drop the match into water, or shake the match gently until the flame extinguishes. Ensure the match is completely out and cool before disposing of it to prevent accidental fires.

Although millions of Americans regularly use scented candles without any negative effects, it is always possible that a particular fragrance might trigger a negative reaction in a very small percentage of sensitive individuals. Individuals with known sensitivities to specific fragrances may want to avoid candles of those scents. In addition, consumers should remember to burn all candles, whether scented or unscented, in a well-ventilated area. LINNEA® Layering is our bespoke approach to home fragrance and invites blending a variety of scents from across our collections of candles, aromatic mists, and reed diffusers. Placing assorted fragrances in various rooms or placing various fragrances distally in the same room creates a unique and complex scent experience personally tailored to the individual and their space.

Burn time is dependent on several factors and ideal practices will help ensure optimum performance of any candle. We suggest burning candles long enough for the wax to melt all the way across the top. We also recommend not burning candles for longer than four hours at a time. Prolonged burning creates excessive heat and causes the wax to melt increasingly fast. Finally, we recommend snuffing out candles, as opposed to blowing them out and we suggest trimming candle wicks to reduce the chance of smoking. Using LINNEA®’s Candle Care Kit is a great way to prolong the life of any luxury candle.

LINNEA®’s Reed Diffusers are designed to introduce subtle fragrance from one to three months. To intensify the scent from a reed diffuser and eliminate dust buildup, we recommend flipping the reeds regularly. The fragrance will continue to disperse as long as there’s oil in the container. Replacement reeds may be required to extend the shelf life of the product.

Yes. LINNEA® Reed Diffuser Refills are sold separately and include a bottle of diffuser oil and 10 fresh rattan reeds. When the original reed diffuser kit is finished and no longer throws scent, one may refill the original vessel, using a LINNEA® refill with fresh reeds.

Our Diffuser Refill holds 6.7 fluid ounces, which will fill the mouth-blown glass vessel about 2/3rds full. You can choose to fill the vessel entirely or pour half and save the rest for later to refresh the scent.

How many reeds should I use?

The diffuser kit comes with 10 rattan reeds. For maximum fragrance dispersion, use all 10 reeds. Alternatively, you can use fewer reeds and keep the remaining ones to refresh the scent over time.

Can I reuse the vessel?

Yes, the vessel is designed for reuse. Either refill with the remaining liquid from your refill bottle or simply clean it out after the oil is used up and refill with another scent of your choice.

LINNEA® Aromatic Mists are intended to scent the air, alone or in tandem with a candle or diffuser. Due to the alcohol content of our Aromatic Mist fragrance oil, we do not recommend spritzing your skin. We also recommend using caution when spritzing Aromatic Mist near fabrics and/or an open flame.
